Our Story

Extended Roots Coffee began with the memories and moments that coffee shares with us every day. Whether it’s spending time with family and friends, heading to work, studying late, or staying awake waiting for your wife to give birth (that was me!)—coffee has always been there. I still remember the small coffee tree we had on the tenth-floor balcony of our apartment and my dad trying to roast its beans in our conventional oven.

Growing up in Venezuela, coffee was always part of life. From a young age, it accompanied me to baseball games, family gatherings, and mornings at my mom’s house. It never failed—wherever we were, coffee was present.

After moving to the United States and starting to work, that morning cup became something I looked forward to every day. It brought happiness, comfort, and the energy to keep pushing toward the American dream.

When I joined the Army—where I’ve now served for over 17 years—coffee became even more meaningful. It has been a morale booster not just for me but for countless friends. Through cold, rainy nights, long deployments, and quiet moments shared together, coffee has always been a source of warmth and connection.

In 2021, while working in El Salvador, I had the incredible opportunity to visit a coffee farm—and that’s where the idea for Extended Roots Coffee was born. With the demands of military life, the dream had to wait, but in October 2025, thanks to the support of my Wife, family and friends who believed in my vision (and helped me taste-test countless roasts), Extended Roots Coffee finally came to life.

Through our coffee, we want to be part of the memories that bring people together reminding us of where we come from, and bringing a little happiness to every day, no matter where we are
