Colombia Organic Cafecauca Excelso

Cafecauca is a coffee cooperative founded on December 12, 1961 in Popayán, Colombia, built on community, resilience, and sustainable growth. Its organic coffees are grown in the Cauca Region at altitudes between 1,800 to 2,100 meters above sea level and are typically washed-processed using selective hand-picking, depulping, and controlled fermentation (18–36 hours), followed by washing and sun-drying on raised beds or patios to reach 10–11% moisture.

Organic production at Cafecauca goes beyond certification, using natural fertilizers, eco-friendly pest control, and shade-grown systems to protect soil and water. The cooperative also supports training, traceability, and infrastructure to help small farmers maintain quality and prevent contamination.
